Community: Beautiful Palo Cedro CA is convenient and country all in one! Slightly east of Redding and headed towards Lassen National Park, it has a wonderful country atmosphere with both rolling hills plus wide open spaces. It's a desirable place to live for those who are looking for a bit of elbow room or space for animals such as horses, cows and many others. Local schools including Foothill High School amongst others are a rallying force within the community. Creeks from the nearby mountains including many branches of Cow Creek, Oak Run Creek and others come together to form "Cow Creek", a very large and year around creek flowing through Palo Cedro as it makes its way to the Sacramento River. Palo Cedro Golf Estates and the surrounding Grape Ranch Golf Club also adjoin Cow Creek.
This community is small with just under 1500 residents while others are nearby in Millville, Bella Vista and the much larger regional hub of Redding. The Palo Cedro community park is a very nice ongoing project. Longtime local country music legend and hall of fame inductee Merle Haggard made his home here until his passing in 2016. The annual Palo Cedro Honey Bee festival is a treasured local event.
Local shopping centers serve the needs of the community with the larger regional options a short distance away via a direct route along State Highway 44.
