Community: Anderson is home to the wonderful Anderson River Park and it includes a population of slightly less than 10,000 people. In addition to the small town feel within the City of Anderson provides there is a surrounding area of homes on acreage in country settings that add to the population base.
The Sacramento River and the 440 acre Anderson River Park is a highlight of the community. This park is a big draw for Anderson with the athletic fields, picnic areas, fishing access and play structures. The park also hosts many events held throughout the warmer months.
The Shasta County Fairgrounds are also located in Anderson, host of a robust annual fair with the classic rides and active carnival atmosphere. A large contingent from the local Future Farmers of America clubs in association with the local schools are present. Shasta Speedway is also on the grounds being used for music events and occasional car races.
Location: 10 minutes south of Redding and just north of Cottonwood in "Upstate California" or "Far Northern California" if you prefer.
